We are pleased to announce that Jay Maroney, Esq. has joined Cohen & Cohen Law PC. Whether it’s a property closing, a permitting matter, a will, or a small business issue, we understand that our clients want comprehensive, accurate, solutions-driven advice and services, and that they need information and action on a schedule that gets the job done as smoothly as possible. The addition of Jay allows our office to continue to meet those expectations.
Jay moved to Nantucket full-time in 2018 and is the fourth generation of his family to summer or live on the island. At Cohen & Cohen Law PC, Jay focuses on real estate matters, permitting, contracts, leases, and small business matters. Jay graduated from Hampshire College, has a Masters in National Security Studies from Georgetown University, and went to law school at the George Washington University School of Law. Jay comes to us from the U.S. Navy, after multiple deployments as an intelligence officer with Navy SEAL Team 3 and the Naval Special Warfare Development Group for which he received two Joint Service Commendation Medals and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Prior to his service, Jay served as counsel on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, to the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and on the US Senate Armed Services Committee. Jay remains an active member of the United States Navy Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant. Jay is a member of the California and Massachusetts Bar. In his personal time, he is an avid runner and aspiring sailor.
